Sirine Fattouh (b.1980) is a feminist visual artist, researcher and biker. Her multifaceted work represents people’s histories through various mediums. She explores the complex relationship to her country of origin and the consequences of conflicts and wars on people’s everyday lives by using her own memories as well as collecting others’ testimonies. In most of her films, she creates archives that can be reactivated by other artists, researchers and scholars in the future.

In her most recent work, she highlights issues around gender and queer identity through drawing, sculpture, and installation. Taking off from her childhood dreams and memories, Fattouh creates a personal mythology of animals, characters, and creatures. She also explores self-portraits where she embodies comic situations inspired by history of contemporary art. Mixing humor and tragedy, Fattouh appears in her drawings as an androgynous figure.

Fattouh holds a PhD in Visual Arts and Aesthetics from University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne (UFR04) and a Master degree from École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts of Paris Cergy (ENSAPC).

Her work has been exhibited at Crac Occitanie (Sète, France), Letitia Gallery (Beirut, Lebanon), Centre Pompidou (Metz, France), MAXXI Museum (Rome, Italy),  Fondation d'Entreprise Ricard (Paris, France), Akinci Gallery (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Kaaï Studio (Brussels, Belgium), Beirut Art Center (Beirut, Lebanon), Mucem (Marseille, France), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany), Edge of Arabia (Brick Lane, London), La Villa Savoye of Le Corbusier (Poissy, France), l'Institut du monde arabe (Paris, France) and the Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art (Thessaloniki, Greece).
