Truth Coming Out of Her Well, 2021
Resin sculpture with inverted fountain system

Truth Coming Out of Her Well reinterprets a 19th-century allegory of Truth traditionally depicted as a nude female figure.

The artist replaces this figure with her own body. She stands holding a mirror that reflects light into the space. Blood flows from her body and gathers at her feet, forming a downward movement that recalls an inverted fountain. What is usually hidden becomes visible. The work disrupts an idealized and silent image of the female body by introducing a material, cyclical reality.
