Baby-Doll, Installation, Villa Savoye of Le Corbusier, Poissy, France, 2007.

For the exhibition Proliférer, Sirine Fattouh spent one night at la Villa Savoye constructed by Le Corbusier between 1928 and 1931 in order to live the experience of this particular space. To render her experience during that night where she heard weird noises and sounds, she placed 50 dolls in one of the rooms. The Dolls sing and dance while moving into the space. The number of dolls renders prolonged listening unbearable, as the sonic space is rapidly saturated by their dissonant songs. The confused songs of the dolls leave us with an unpleasant feeling, similar to what we would feel in an out of tune rock concert.
