A Night in Beirut, 2006
Video installation, Beirut
A man walks through the city at night, beating a drum. For years, the artist heard this sound without ever seeing the figure behind it. The work follows this presence for the first time, moving through streets shaped by memory and repetition.
Filmed in a restrained and direct manner, the video captures a space suspended between familiarity and distance. The figure appears both known and unreachable, oscillating between lived experience and projection.
