Entre les ruines (Among the ruins), video installation in collaboration with the dancer Alexandre Paulikevitch and five musiciens, filmed in Bint Jbeil, Southern Lebanon, 2007.

Entre les ruines (Among the ruins) is a collaboration with dancer and choreographer Alexandre Paulikevitch. The shooting took place in Bint Jbeil, in southern Lebanon in February 2007, shortly after the end of the 33-day war between Hezbollah and the Israeli army in 2006. This video intersects the desolate condition of the village with the tension exerted by the dancer. Usually performed by a woman, the dance is here embodied by a man, allowing a different reading of a body in relation to it’s surrounding of deserted ruins. Fattouh asked five musicians to each create a sound track for the video. The final installation is a projection with five headphones so that the visitor can choose between the different sonic interpretations of the video.
