Entre les ruines, video installation in collaboration with five musiciens, Bint Jbeil, Lebanon, 2007.
Entre les ruines (Among the ruins) is a collaboration with the dancer and choreographer Alexander Paulikevitch. The shooting took place in Bint Jbeil, in southern Lebanon in February 2007, several months after the end of the 33 day war between the Hezbollah and the Israeli army in 2006. It crosses the desolate condition of the village with the tension exerted by the dancer. Indeed, the fact that this dance usually performed by a woman is danced by a man is interesting - not for its subversive aspect but for what the dancer expresses and how he interacts with the deserted ruins. I asked 5 musicians to create each one an Original Sound Track for the video. The installation consists of a projection and 5 headphones so that the visitor of the exhibition can choose to here the version that he wants. The perception of the video changes with each sound version.
