Beirut Mutations, photomontage from scanned Film photographs, 60 x 40 cm, Mounted on Dibond, Aluminium Frames, Lebanon, 2015.

In Beirut everything is changing so rapidly, old houses and buildings are being destroyed and replaced by high-rise ones, the city has become a huge constructing site. With the destruction of old houses and buildings Beirut is losing its character and because there is no legislation, the cityscape is filled with chaotic and disorganized construction. In my photomontages Fattouh assembled discordant buildings and create absurd panoramas. She creates images that suits my perception of a city that is consuming itself.
